About

Hi, I'm Eunice.

Welcome to Brew & Sip

It Started With My Mum's Cup

I was one of those kids who always had to have a sip from my mum's cup — no matter what she was drinking. One day I spotted a dark liquid in her mug and assumed she'd forgotten to add milk to her tea. One sip later, I spat it straight back out. What on earth was this woman drinking?

"I must have been in my early teens. Twenty-plus years later, I'm still sipping from her cups — except now I'm the one recommending the brands."

Over time, the taste grew on me. Then it became a ritual. Then a genuine passion. These days, coffee isn't just a caffeine fix — it's an experience I look forward to, and I've become the person my family and friends turn to when they want to know what machine to buy, which pods are worth it, and whether that shiny new model is actually any good.

How Brew & Sip Started

We always had a cafetière at home growing up, but things got serious when my husband came home one day with an old school Gaggia machine — steam wand and all. The full deal. We loved it, but it was a weekend treat; the kind of thing you make time for rather than squeeze into a busy morning.

Then I visited my aunt. She had a pod machine with what felt like endless flavour options and I was instantly intrigued. That visit led to me buying the Tassimo My Way 2, which led to the CAPXSNOB Warriors1, which led to the Philips L'OR Barista Absolu — and honestly, it's just been going from there.

What I noticed along the way was how hard it was to find reviews written by actual everyday coffee drinkers. Most reviews felt like spec sheets dressed up as opinions. I wanted to read about what it's actually like to use these machines on a normal Tuesday morning — so I decided to write that content myself.

The Machines in My Kitchen Right Now

Tassimo My Way 2
Daily Driver

My first pod machine and still a firm favourite. What I love most is how much control it gives you — strength, size, temperature, all adjustable to your exact mood. The milk capsules make a genuinely enjoyable drink, and it's quick enough for a busy morning without feeling like a compromise.

CAPXSNOB Warriors1 4-in-1
The Versatile One

I picked this up when my favourite Tassimo T-Discs became hard to find and I was curious about Nespresso pods. The fact that it works with Nespresso Original, Dolce Gusto, Lavazza, and ground coffee sold me immediately — the versatility and pod availability are unbeatable. (Just a shame it doesn't have a T-Disc connector — missed opportunity!)

Philips L'OR Barista Absolu
The Luxury Option

This one shouted luxury the moment I saw it. A proper espresso experience, compatible with Nespresso Original pods and L'OR capsules, and — the clincher — a dedicated iced coffee mode that actually works. Life was complete the day this arrived on my counter.

What to Expect From My Reviews

I review coffee machines the way I'd want someone to review them for me — practically, honestly, and with real daily use in mind. I'm not here to read you the spec sheet. I'm here to tell you what it's actually like to live with a machine.

  • ☕ I test every feature properly before forming an opinion
  • ☕ I'll tell you what's genuinely great — and what's not
  • ☕ I write for everyday coffee drinkers, not just enthusiasts
  • ☕ I cover all types — pods, espresso, bean-to-cup, filter
  • ☕ I won't recommend something I wouldn't use myself
